Deleting your pairplay account

Version of 6 October 2026

This page explains how to delete your account in pairplay, the app by [[FILL: operator's legal name]], and what happens to your data. You can do it in three ways.

In the app

  1. Open pairplay and sign in.
  2. Go to the Us tab.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account is deleted straight away, and the app erases the encrypted chat and keys on that phone. If you can't sign in, reset your password from the sign-in screen first, or use one of the ways below.

On the web

Sign in at pair-play.com/account with your pairplay email address and password, choose Delete account and type your email address to confirm.

By email

Write to [[FILL: contact email]] from the email address of your account, with the subject "Delete my account". If you write from another address, we'll ask you to confirm that the account is yours. We delete it as soon as we can, and at the latest within one month, and confirm by email.

What we delete

  • Your account: email address, name, sign-in (the Auth0 account and password) and your age and terms confirmations.
  • Every pairing you've been part of, with its encrypted desires and rewards, challenges, game details and history. If you're paired, your partner is unpaired and gets a notification.
  • Your invite codes.
  • Your phones' records, keys and notification tokens, and any encrypted messages and photos still waiting to be delivered.
  • Your subscription records and free-trial records. A subscription bought on pair-play.com is cancelled, and we delete your customer record at Stripe and your subscriber record at RevenueCat.

What stays, and for how long

  • Payment records that tax law requires us to keep: 5 years from the end of the year of the payment.
  • Backups of our database: deleted data leaves them within [[FILL: backup retention]].
  • Server and sign-in logs, crash reports and the admin panel log stay until they expire (see How long we keep data). Usage statistics, if you turned them on, were never linked to your email or name.
  • Your partner's phone keeps what it already received and decrypted, such as your chat messages. We can't reach it.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription: Apple and Google bill it. Cancel it in your Apple ID or Google Play settings first, or you may be charged again. A subscription bought on pair-play.com ends with your account.
